Compliance Training in UA LMS
InfoUA LMS System Access
New students receive access to UA LMS during the semester for which they are enrolled. For example, incoming students for the fall would be granted access the day after summer finals end, if they are enrolled for fall classes at that time. Typically, any entrance training requirements are not due until the first week of classes, so that gives ample time to complete requirements.
- Child Abuse Prevention Training
Students may be required to complete Child Abuse Prevention training due to their involvement in other UA activities. For example, presidents of registered student organizations may be asked to complete training as part of the student organization registration process. - HIPAA Privacy and Security Training
Some students may be required to complete the HIPAA Privacy and Security Training based on program requirements, course enrollment, and/or volunteer activities, regardless of their employment status. However, several programs have transitioned this training to Blackboard instead of UA LMS. Students should check with their program contact to verify whether they should complete the training in UA LMS or Blackboard.
For questions regarding assignments or access to Child Abuse Prevention Training or HIPAA Training contact the office of Compliance, Ethics, and Regulatory Affairs at compliancetraining@ua.edu.
Environmental Health & Lab Safety Training
Students may be assigned required health and safety training courses (including Bloodborne Pathogen Training) by the Environmental Health and Safety department based on various factors such as: enrollment in specific UA courses (labs), research activity, or campus residence. To request training please visit the EHS Training webpage and submit the online form. These courses should be completed in Training Academy. For questions regarding assignments or access to Training Academy contact Environmental Health & Safety.
